ISLAMABAD, Sep 21 (APP): The Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Media Cell of the Press Information Department has launched a Policy Working Group which was aimed at enhancing its research capability.
Representatives from leading think tanks in Islamabad participated in the inaugural meeting of the working group, said a news release.
Director General Home Publicity Raisa Adil presided over the inaugural meeting, while Deputy Project Director Asad Shabbir gave a comprehensive presentation.
The formation of the policy working group would help enhance the media cell’s research capability while also building broad-base consensus on the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s CVE efforts.
The participants included Dr. Shafqat Munir from Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Dr. Talat Shabbir from the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), Reema Shaukat from Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), Hassan Ahmad from Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), Asad Ullah Khan from Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies, Shahab Siddiqi from Tabadlab, Naufil Shahrukh from Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) and Alishba Naeem from Social Protection Resource Centre.
